Imagined conversation with the knitting gods/goddesses:
Me: "Oh, why have you chosen to smite me??"
Them: "You did this yourself. You know the reason for your smotement (is that a word? *cracks up*)"
Me: "I can work perfectly well from a chart. I don't need no stinking written out directions. It doesn't matter that the pattern is in Finnish!"
Them: "*knowing silence*"
Me: "*sniffles a little and starts ripping back to her lifeline on the shawl two charts ago*"
Pity me, for I have been smited. Smoten... You know what? Forget it. Suffice it to say my shawl and I aren't on speaking terms at the moment.
I do have good news though....
I finished the str fingerless gloves. Well, I guess they're semi fingerless. lol I even finished a pair of fingerless gloves for DH. A pattern may be forthcoming for these. Not sure yet.
And now I'm looking for something new to start with my newly reclaimed stash of sock yarn. Today was "Sock Yarn Liberation Day" here at the northern hq of The Yarn Mafia. (blurry pic oh so sorry)
Two ripped socks, three balls stash dived, and two balls untangled. The pink and cream (leftover from my so pretty loksins) will be turned into another pair of handwarmers, absolutely no fingers this time. The rest? Haven't the faintest. Here, have a bonus picture.
That's the frost on the bedroom window. Crazy huh? I'll have pics of the loksins once DH has a sunny day off from work.
